MEET THE DIRECTOR
Michael G. SacilowskiMichael G. Sacilowski received a Masters of Arts in Theology Degree from Christ the King Seminary in May 2015. He has been a Parish Catechetical leader at Queen of Martyrs Church serving as the Director of Religious Education since 2015. In October of 2018 was awarded certification as a Diocesan Catechetical Leader according to the standards and requirements of the Diocese of Buffalo.
Since 2000 he has designed and implemented a versatile intergenerational program (Generations of Faith) at Queen of Martyrs. He has been a Communion (3rd Grade) & Confirmation (11th Grade) Catechist. In addition he has conducted and personally designed many Parent/Student Eucharist and Reconciliation Retreats as well as Sponsor/Student Confirmation Retreats. He has presented many one man saint plays throughout the years, telling the stories of St. Benedict, St. Nicholas, St. Patrick, St. Francis, and St. Joseph. For over 20 years he has served the parish as the lead member of the RCIA team educating candidates/catechumens as they become full members of the Church. His experience also includes working as a Coordinator of Religious Education St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Lancaster (2006-2007) where he collaborated with the Director of Religious Education in planning & executing curriculum for over 600 students in grades 7-10. He has had the opportunity to work with the clergy, the music ministry, the Pro-Life ministry, and the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Queen of Martyrs and also serves as a lector. |
