Generations of Faith
The Religious Education program at our church runs from September - April in which the primary family faith formation educators of the children are the parents. The entire family joins other families for monthly sessions to learn and grow further in their faith. Attendance (parents and students) at monthly sessions is mandatory.
This Family Faith Formation program is designed for students in Grades 1-10. It is designed for families who want to grow in their faith together. In general the sessions are the first two (2) Saturdays of each month (check schedule for specifics) from 6 to 9pm. We begin our celebrations at 6pm and gather in the gym for the family portion after wards which consists of a meal, grade level classes, and a group session at the end. For many families the program offers flexibility, an opportunity for “family time”, and nourishes and enriches their Faith in a combination of instruction, discussion, activities, and the use of an array of multimedia methods to supplement growth.
Our sacramental classes for Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation consist of six (6) sessions that strive to focus on the particular mystery being received through added instruction, activities, and interactive methods. Each Sacrament also has an accompanying retreat that is designed so that the students and parent/sponsor grow spiritually as they prepare for the sacraments.
